The architectural practice of Lindstrom and Almars began in 1907 and existed until 1916. Little information is available about either partner. It is known that John Lindstrom was born in 1874 in Gottenburg, Sweden, and lived in Minneapolis for about 60 years. He retired in 1956. Joseph Almars was born in Minneapolis in 1884 and was a life-long resident of that city. He served as vice president of the Bureau of Engraving (a printing firm) and president of Art Instruction, Inc., a branch of the Bureau of Engraving, for many years after leaving Lindstrom. Both men died in Minneapolis.
