There are few written records concerning 19th-century members. The AIA's incoming correspondence files for 1902 does include two letters from Sanford E. Loring concerning the possibility of rejoining the AIA, with information about his activities since 1871. The scanned file includes a copy of the 1901 non-member circular to which he refers, his letters, a transcription of his letters, a transcription of the AIA's replies (from the outgoing correspondence letterpress book), and two enclosures showing his work. The first is a printed half-tone image of the annex to the Syracuse Library, and the second is a blueprint with an elevation and plan of the Bailey Jones Company factory, Jamestown, NY, 1902 (original size 17 1/4"w x 15"h, scanned in two images). The scanned stamp is on the back of both enclosures.
