His birth date is 11 December 1888 on his headstone, in the Social Security Death Index, on his World War I draft record, and on census records up to 1930. In the census of 1940, and on his World War II draft record, his birth date is listed as 11 December 1893. On his 1959 AIA application, he gives it as 11 December 1894. The correct year appears to be 1888.
