George B. McDougall applied for membership in the AIA in 1901 but was rejected. He applied again in 1909 and was admitted. He was elected to the AIA Board of Directors for a one-year term in 1926-27. His membership file includes his unsuccessful 1901 application, request for emeritus (retired) status, and obituaries. The drawings submitted with his 1901 application were returned to him at the time. The membership applications from 1909 are not in the AIA Archives.
