Membership file contains membership application, correspondence about resignation due to disagreement with AIA competition policy. In 1909, the AIA had established guidelines for conducting architectural competitions in a fair and professional manner. AIA members were not allowed to participate in competitions that had not been approved as meeting the AIA guidelines. The 1914 revision of the AIA's Circular on Architectural Competitions was in effect at the time of Perry's resignation.
